Jharkhand Adivasi Mahila Vikas Samuh actively supports the objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), a flagship programme of the Government of India, aimed at providing safe, adequate, and sustainable drinking water to every rural household through Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs). In tribal and rural areas of Jharkhand, access to clean drinking water remains a major challenge due to difficult terrain, seasonal water scarcity, and limited infrastructure. Women and elderly persons are particularly affected, as they bear the primary responsibility of water collection. The Jal Jeevan Mission seeks to address these challenges by ensuring water security, improved public health, and reduced drudgery for women, while strengthening community ownership of water resources.
